inspiring and funny and metaphoric

About 3 months ago, I first learned about the land of podcasts. When I asked my artist friends what podcast to listen to, they recommended me to listen to the Creative Pep Talk. At first, I had to get used to the rapid and energized talking of the host dr. Andy J. Pizza 🍕, but once I got through this, I started to love it. I'm enjoying the tips and insights but most of all; the metaphors that are used. They're often funny and/or clever, and I guess that's why they stick with me. Some subjects tend to come back in new episodes, but usually they're in a different context. This is the perfect podcast for illustrators and designers when you're in need of some inspiration, motivation, or background stories from the host and the many creatives he interviewed so far. Great stuff to listen to while working on some new artwork myself 👌🏻

SO INCREDIBLY AWESOME!!!!

This podcast is amazing!!! So much incredible insite and pep! And so many awesome ideas! It has changed my creative career and new fails to inspire me on every level. Not one episode has gone by where I haven't had to pause it to write something down which inspired me! I now have a bulletin board full of Andy J. Pizza quotes. I also laugh out loud while listening and I'm pretty sure my neighbors can hear me, but it's worth it

Pepped

I listen to this on my morning dog walk and then I feel motivated to get on. Andy is funny but really insightful too. I’ve just started my MA Illustration and this is the best accompaniment to it. Cheers Andy 🤓

Very helpful !

Settle in for some extended philosophical musings on life and the creative path. Not what you expect -- it really goes deep into its subject matter. Always have tissues and a notebook handy when you listen to this podcast -- you might à a creative breakthrough or you might just finally realise what's been holding you back and have a cathartic breakdown. Both options will change your life for the better. Thank you Andy 🙏🏼

Just what I needed

Intellectually, I knew that becoming a successful creator was more than just talent. I knew a certain amount of strategy would be needed too, but I wasn’t clear about how to do both. Creative Pep Talk shows how to do this in a fun and welcoming way. I really enjoy this podcast- it has become my absolute favorite. Thanks, Andy, for sharing your insights, for the interviews and for the massive inspiration!

I’m an abstract painter and listening to the creative pep talk is my favorite way to paint now. Every podcast it’s like Andy is my own personal cheerleader as I push through the doubt and disaster to create!

As a burgeoning illustrator, I find Andy’s talks comforting. It’s nice to know others have similar doubts and anxieties but can still accomplish their goals. He feels like a friend that I need! Thanks Andy!

Energetic, exciting & inspiring

Not only does Andy give killer advice, but he also takes you on an emotional rollercoaster. You’ll laugh, you’ll nearly cry, you’ll feel like you can conquer the world. I love how deep Andy gets on topics, and his metaphors are so perfect and really help in understanding. He talks about topics that actually matter. And yeah, sometimes he does go off on rants that are kind of crazy but those are like my FAVORITE parts. Because it’s raw, it’s true. I feel like I’m listening to a best friend give me the best kinds of advice. I’ll legit be laughing in my car like almost to tears just listening to him and it’s just pure awesomeness. Thanks for all that you put into it Andy, it makes a difference! 💯🖤

Incredibly powerful.

This podcast has changed me and has made me a stronger creator. Whenever I’m feeling down about my creative career, this podcast recenters me. Andy has made me cry and laugh multiple times in the same podcast. I feel like this podcast opens my heart more. I really am grateful for Andy’s vulnerability and all the hard work of the whole CPP team. Proud to be a pepperoni!

Andy Pizza’s Creative Pep Talk podcast is smart, insightful, entertaining + motivating. I’m new to the illustration world + his podcasts provide essential straight forward actionable advice that is inspired + inspiring. Plus, Andy’s energy, wit + storytelling is fantastic! SO much heart + wisdom! HIGHLY recommend!!!!!

Best Creative Podcast Ever

This is hands down my favorite creative podcast/resource of all time! It is the perfect combination of both creative and strategy/business advice. Andy nails it evey time. He does a great job of thinking about what creatives need to hear and pointing them in the right direction. He gives really solid advice that is easy to implement right away in your practice. Keep up the amazing work Andy (and Sophie)!

I have been a listener since about episode 50 and I still look forward to every new episode. I started listening for creative inspiration and a good laugh. I have not been disappointed. I learn something from every episode and no other podcast makes me laugh so much. Thank you Andy for sharing your struggles; knowing that someone else has had similar personal , creative and business fears and hardship makes the journey easier. Keep going ! This podcast is freakin' great. Andy covers all kinds of creative snafoos from existential to practical and usually in a goofy voice. Great if you've been trying to level up but don't know where to start. I'm so glad this exists and you probably will be too!

I look forward to every new episode and truly savor each one. Andy is encouraging and motivating even when he’s letting us in on his darker side. I laugh, I cry, it’s a truly moving podcast with solid advice and a great attitude. I love the interviews but the episodes with just Andy trying to teach us important things about ourselves are my faves. Plus he’s so thoughtful, open minded, funny, and very obviously kind. Lord knows creative people can use that kindness. It’s taken me a long time to prioritize art-making in my life. I was terrified that I would be stuck in a career I was really starting to hate. Now, I feel braver, in part because I’m armed with solid plans and projects to go forward with. I feel my artist self so supported by this podcast!!! Thank you so much, Andy j pizza!!!

Invaluable insights and fun format

I love Andy J Pizza and Creative Pep Talk, and I’m not one to throw around the L-word lightly. Andy brings so much insight to the creative process, whether you’re a fine artist, designer, writer, illustrator, or even a research scientist (yes, science is a very creative endeavor, speaking as a researcher myself), you’re pretty much guaranteed to walk away with ideas for how to better access, harness, and bring forth your creativity. The podcasts are also a lot of fun to listen to, as Andy is a very quirky and funny guy, making the process of receiving his wisdom that much easier and more enjoyable; I’m pretty much oscillating between “aha” moments and lol’ing most episodes. Can’t recommend this podcast highly enough! Thanks Andy!

Game-changing

I just listened to one episode and I’ve got to go back and listen with pen and paper in hand, there were so many gems of wisdom that Andy dropped. The episode was more than an hour long and during that time Andy was weird, nerdy, referenced pop culture but also got real, raw and vulnerable at times. This is a must listen if you have a creative business and things don’t feel shiny and new anymore

One of the best podcasts!! If you’re a creative and you’re so lost with your career, this is the podcast to listen to. Started listening to this because I feel so lost and uninspired lately, and this podcast helps me look at things in a different perspective. :)
