Just call me a Pepperoni!
This show never ceases to make me smile - even when the episode gets a little more serious. Andy’s enthusiasm and authenticity is a welcome weekly treat. As a fine artist, I don’t always fit what he is discussing exactly, but more often than not, I do, and it always gives me a new way of looking at something in my career. Thanks, Andy!!
making art, paying the rent and still being happy
So, I've been listening at least two years straight, I'm a Patreon supporter, but I didn't take the time to write a review so far. This is my favourite podcast in Art & Business-land - it is real, there is no facade. Andy is an amazing storyteller, he mixes all the metaphors in a surprising way and it works! Maybe you've heard the advice he gives already, but he gives it in a way that you cannot ignore it. I can relate to him, I am a filmmaker, I really love what I do but I've been struggling some times with making authentic personal work, making work that pays my bills, and finding a sweet spot in this. It is just a great, encouraging, energetic podcast, and I recommend it to anyone who is willing to listen to me.
Encouragement tangled in the journey
Man, I can't tell you how much this podcast means to me. There are so many days where even though I love what I do...I question why I do it, or have a feeling that I am just not made up to be a creative. There is this little voice that is always whispering you just need a 9 to 5...this is just a hobby. Andy really has put the encourgement and perspective in my step in helping me fight that whisper in the dark that wants me to go to the dark side. I truly have found passion in what I do...and yeah it can be tough, but every journey doesn't go straight to the end of the rainbow. You have to fight, this podcast reminds you of that. I can't put into words how greatful I am for the pep...you just have to listen.
Fantastic Podcast
So uplifting, inspiring & real. I’m hooked.
So freaking inspiring
THE reason I climbed back from the depths of Imposter syndrome and deep creative funk is one podcast, and one podcast alone. This one. Andy J Pizza is that angel on your shoulder, building you up, letting you know you can, you should and you will. It’s in you. The creativity is there. Creative Pep talk will draw it out.
Thanks for all the pep!
This podcast is so inspiring! As a professional illustrator I can’t recommend this podcast enough. For those who are on the crazy road of producing commercial art or are in the midst of any kind of creative endeavor Creative Pep Talk is an endless source of wisdom!
Wacky, passionate, sincere, practical
The four descriptors above don’t often go together but Andy J. Pizza somehow manages to combine them all. It really is a pep talk with motivational framework, but at it’s foundation is solid practicals in building a creative business. Andy is a sympathetic relatable goofy expert at his thang. I’ve learned a lot from his podcast, it’s a great one to have in your library.
Pure + Empowering
I'm currently tearing up while working on freelance work in a library after listening to the most recent episode (Episode 183 – How To Relight Your Fire). I'm a young creative that feels trapped and lost. Creative Pep Talk is the first piece of artist empowerment that's felt candid and resonated with me. I feel like Andy is my goofy art dad that knows that I have what it takes to be a solid designer, and has also felt the pains of being an artist in our world today. This podcast has already helped me feel confident that I will make it, and I recommend it to anyone who is struggling to feel this confidence too.
Life Changing
Hands down, Andy Miller's Creative Pep Talk is my absolute favorite podcast. He shares what he has learned as a creative, all the ups and downs. He's the real deal who has helped change my life, and I say that with no hyperbole. So much of what he imparts I already have learned over the years as a creative myself, but he goes way deeper than I ever did and has really shed so much light on my own struggles and triumphs. I'm so thankful for what Andy has done for me as a creative, and I hope that he continues to encourage all creatives for years to come. His artwork is pretty awesome, too.
Thank you, Dr. Pizza!
This has happened many times with this podcast, but How to Relight Your Fire! was exactly what I needed to here in the moment. Thank you again, Andy.
Motivated!!!!
Thanks Andy, this podcast has pepped me to the fricken max. I feel so excited to draw every time I listen.
Real and FUN
I love listening to Andy - he’s passionate and knowledgeable and unpretentious. This is a great resource for anyone trying to live a creative life!
Absolute Standout
Andy is an absolute shining beacon. There is no one sharing as openly and honestly as this for creatives - I've searched - and I have found this podcast to be profound in tapping into what's really going on in our creative minds and careers. Every episode is an absolute must-listen for me.
Great empowerment
I have been listening to the creative pep talk for a little over half a year. It took me a little bit to get Andy’s personality but I have made a huge career change and believe I can make it work and I really do feel like listening to Andy has empowered me to believe in myself and envision a way I can find a way to do the work I want to do and make it be profitable. He’s infectious, credible and supportive. Listen to this. If you want to make a change and believe in yourself and get it done, listen to this.
The right words in right moments 🐰❤️🤯
Pep changed my life! Hearing this help me to go through in a lot of things not only on my creative life, sometimes it made me cry because it was the right moment to hear that. Believe me, he will become your mentor and i could say a friend :) thanks a lot Andy
A reassuring and great resource!
This podcast rules! Entertaining and has useful content for creative folks. Good stuff!
Always helpful!
This is positivity mainlining into your ear buds. I like the Andy-only episodes best. As a creative professional, when I need a pep talk, this is it.
Put some pep in your creative step!
I love this show! I was tired of listening to advice that basically said I should just make art without ever thinking about money, or selling, or marketing, which can be good advice for those with enough money and support to just paint all day. But many of us want to create and pay the bills. Andy’s advice is incredibly practical, for the most part, though I do love when Andy dives in the deeply philosophical stuff. Also, his energy is super contagious, and he is very, very energetic. If nothing else, listen to the Creative Path series of this podcast. It made me laugh, it made me cry, but mostly it gave me hope that I’ll be able to turn my life around and start doing art as a full-time job.
Motivating tips and humour
I LOVE CREATIVE PEP TALK! Andy’s episodes are ADDICTING! And I don’t even usually listen to podcasts! Each episode is a fun burst of inspiration and wise insight for people wanting to pursue creative careers. Especially illustrators and freelancers! It’s expanding and changing the way I view myself, my work, my process, and my motivation.
Andy is amazing
If you are passionate about creativity should definitely listen to Andy talk about how to balance creativity and a career! He is funny and serious and passionate and so excited to share his wisdom!!
Life-changer. The best creative podcast
This is what the creative world needs. Probably the best creative podcast there is. Thanks Andy!
Always brightens my days
Hi! Just wanted to say I started listening to this podcast a couple of weeks ago. A friend who i went to college with recommended it and i can say with all honesty that i look forward to it everyday. I’ve dealt with a huge creative block for a while. I have ideas all the time they just never get done and this podcast has been getting out there more. Very encouraging, resourceful and just silly. I love it and i hope you give it a chance.
