Favorite-est Podcast Ever
I don’t think I can sufficiently express how much I love and am thankful for Andy and his podcast. I sometimes daydream about being interviewed after an artistic breakthrough, and getting to credit Andy for his deep insights and playful nature.
I love the introspective arenas that Andy takes us to, and it’s the podcast I most look forward to in my feed. Some episodes are so classic, insightful, and distilling- that I’ve listened to them twice.
He strikes a remarkable balance between digging deep into our personal philosophies and motivations, and the practical realities of being a working creative.
Andy is an excellent human, and I love hearing his capital ‘V’, Voice, in my studio space.

Truly Life Changing
As a young illustrator trying to get my feet on the ground and understand where my work belongs in the world, this podcast has absolutely changed my life and mindset. I cannot recommend it enough for people with a big imagination, heart and passion for what they do. Andy immerses you as the listener into amazing metaphors that are so beautiful and intuitive. As a visual thinker, the stories in this podcast absolutely put me right into the flow state of creative thinking.

You deserve to hear this podcast
On a good day I listen to this podcast as I start my day off with some overwhelming positivity. On a bad day it gives me a glimmer of hope, knowing that all creative people have a similar struggle. That there a way to embrace and overcome these obstacles.
I don’t know if I’ll ever get to achieve what I want. Or if anyone will care that I did. But I’ve learned a surprising amount about myself and the nature of creativity thanks to Andy and his stories.

Honestly, listening to Andy J Pizza is like having your own little pizza party with a creativity mentor! It feels relaxed, you aren’t worried about the sauce on your face or what he thinks about you eyeing off that last slice. Andy is generous, funny and serves up what he knows in a way that feels so natural, you know it’s good for you. Thanks Andy!

Obsessed! Listening to this like it’s my JOB
… because it kind of is! Creative PepTalk lights me UP — I go through periods where I just listen to episode after episode from the back catalogue because I need all of the pep I can get. I don’t think I understood how hard creative work is (despite having been an illustrator for the last seven years but never feeling like I’m ‘getting it’), until I started listening to this podcast! I thought it was just me! And it was so life affirming to realize I’m not uniquely messed up or unmotivated or distracted (I also suspect I have ADHD so I especially love when Andy brings the conversation to neurodivergence), creative work is actually SUPER HARD. And complex and nonlinear. I didn’t go to art school so I feel especially lost in the woods when it comes to the business side of things as well as the discipline of developing and maintaining a thriving creative practice, and sometimes I use that as a reason to believe my art career just ‘won’t work out.’ Thanks to Andy and the Creative PepTalk team for helping me find my way through the woods! (And actually I LIKE the woods! There are elixirs and mushrooms and personal insights and critters and revelations and creative wisps in here!) Anyway THANK YOU!!!

Sometimes, it's pretty lonely being an artist. Ok, a lot of the time. The majority of the time. This podcast is such a treasure trove for encouragement, practical advice and geniune heart. Andy is always insightful, peceptive and honest, all the while cheering you on.

THIS PODCAST KEEPS ME GOING!
I LOVE Creative Pep Talk and Andy. He's a big dork like me so I find him hilarious, yet at the same time he's extremely knowledgeable and his advice is deep and gets to the core of why we make art and for whom. This podcast is helping me pinpoint exactly what I want to do with my creative career. As a creatively frustrated insanely busy mom it's truly a battle to make art and a career out of it. It inspires me knowing Andy has 3 kids (like me!) and can manage his creative career. This show helps me to stay inspired, to keep going and keep fighting that battle. I can't even put into words how much that means!

Sooo funny & relatable

He’s the Orko to my Cringer!
Or something. I’ve been avoiding the call to adventure for way too long. Discovering this podcast and having Andy as a guide has been life changing. He often says that no one is coming, Hagrid isn’t coming to find you and take you off to Hogwarts to fulfill your destiny but I disagree. Andy, you are my Hagrid! And I’m sure you’ve been the Hagrid to many others too!
Just last night as I’m catching up with the back catalogue, I listened to episode 275 with Michelle Poler and it was like magic. So much of what I’ve been working on lately was touched on in that episode and it felt like the perfect timing for me to hear that content. It feels like I’m finally on the right track and I can’t thank you enough for your generosity to your audience!

This is a great podcast, the only thing I don’t like is that sometimes Andy’s voice sounds like a church preacher, and I know this is totally influenced by his research on these people. Apart from that I love this podcast 💕

Insane amount of tips on how to unleash your creativity
It doesn’t matter what kind of creative stuff you do, this podcast will be beneficial to you 100%. I have never heard or read about things Andy talks about here, he gives so many unique and original tips on creativity that it blows my mind every single episode. I literally sit with a notebook and a pen and write everything down as if on a lecture. Andy’s content is super educational and entertaining to listen to because he offers loads of analogies that are very easy to understand and you can relate. I learned from him more that at art school. Awesome.

ADHD creative, I LOVE WHERE THE PODCAST IS GOING
Been listening for a few years now, and Andy is starting to really let his woo woo flag fly.
A huge part of my creative process is leaning hard into the spiritual side of art, through the lenses of faith, destiny, and interconnectedness.

I recently started this podcast from the start (of the available eps on apple podcasts) and it’s the most helpful, positive force in my life! It gives me everything art school didn’t! Andy’s brain, the way he weaves in analogies, stories etc is so innovative and inspiring. Sometimes I think... where is he going with this one? And when he brings it back it blows my mind! Fantastic ! As an artist on her mid 20s trying to plug away at this ol creative life, I can’t recommend anything more. I listen in my studio while I draw and it’s like having a very sweet, funny mentor in the room!

I found this podcast via the art work but now I listen every week, catching up on old episodes as I can. Andy has helped me navigate my creative journey with compassion, humour and insight. He also got me all the way through a Couch to 5K with his enthusiasm and frequent tangents. New listener looking for older episodes
I love the 2 episodes I’ve listened to so far but I can’t find any episodes before #200 on apple podcasts and I even went to the website but I’m in BFE Arkansas where even the premium WiFi is slow AF, lol, and I couldn’t scroll and load enough to find any before getting frustrated and I just like to listen to all episodes in order okay? I swear I’m not a freak, lol… in the trailer even recommend some that are before number 200 and so I feel like I need to listen to those and I saw on the website that Apple podcast was the preferred podcast app so thank you

I was really enjoying your series on building a creative career, but now the episodes are missing? Is this an issue with apple podcast? Or have they just been removed? I like the podcast, but would have preferred to finish the creative career series before moving into other episodes.
